B-17G Serial# 42-107004 379th Bomb Group

Hi, I am having an original print done for a pilot friend. He was stationed at Kimbolton from August through November 1944. He flew this aircraft on a mission on 11/05/44. I have been told by other sources that this plane was produced by Douglas and it was one of the older planes having flown 95 missions. I am familiar with markings used by this group (both original and final markings), but the bomb group association informed me that the plane was olive drab/green camoflouge and not bare metal, eventhough they did have any pictures of this specific plane. They were going by the date of production. Can someone help with the correct color of this specific aircraft?
