: My dad was a radio operator on a B-24 Liberator between 1943-1945 and stationed in England. He was trained at Keesler Field, Biloxi Ms during 1942 and date he joined the service was FEB 6, 1942. I am trying to locate his original bomb group and squad and it is very difficult. I know the name of his navigator and or pilot was Mike Garvey, also know as "mother" to the crew. He also had a gunner named AL and a Major named Sebodney (not sure on spelling) I have his serial number and social number but have not been able to find out any more. Lt Garvey was from Philadelphia, PA and so was the gunner. My dad's name was Paul Gordon and he was from Braintree, Massachusetts and born in 1920. Any information would be helpful.

We will need your Dad's full name, and probably the serial number (but not SSN - it was not used by the Army).

You may wish to visit my website at the link below. Select the Bomb Groups link at the left of that page and then bring up each of the 2nd Division groups listed there. See if any of the airfield names ring a bell with you. That might give an additional clue.
