: Who can tell me how and where I can obtain a copy of the 305th BG report for the mission of Sunday, November 26, 1944?
: Many thanks in advance!
John, I believe that each Bomb Group generated a Statistical Summary of Operations after each mission. A copy of the summary should be included in the Mission Folder for the unit for the date of interest. The Mission Folder should also include a copy of the Combat Wing Orders for the mission, the formation plan with crew assignment by pilots' name and plane radio call letter, crew loading lists, and an inventory of available planes. There may be 80-120 legal size sheets in a Mission Folder.
The process for obtaining a copy of the contents of a mission folder are to write to the National Archives and request a price quote for its contents. Several years ago, the charge was $0.50 per page. They may supply copies of selected pages, but I don't know their policy. In any case, the contact information is as follows: National Archives at College Park, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740-6001.
These days you may be able to contact them by E-Mail. Sincerely, George.
