: I am searching for anyone who knew or knew about my uncle, 2/Lt Richard R. Cuthbert, O-412620, a pilot from Pennsylvania, and who was KIA. I don't have any further details on him. Army records were destroyed in Records Center fire

Hi Dick,
Having checked the 'Mighty Eighth Roll Of Honor', there was no entry for 2nd Lt. Richard R. Cuthbert KIA. Sometimes names are missed off, but it could also be that your uncle was not with the 8AF.

I also checked the ABMC, but his name is not listed there. This usually means that his body was returned home for family burial after the war. Are there any family members you could check this out with ?

Sorry I could not be of more help. Perhaps one of the guys here may be able to help.
Cheers,
Moofy
