My fatherm Mack W Pittard Jr, was a flight engineer with the ATC in India, too. He was 24 when he enlisted in 1942. I have written his memoir and also do not know just what to do with it.
I know so little about the time dad spent flying the Hump.....and he would not talk about it at all until 2001.....just told his five kids that "I travelled a lot during the war".
Now, with all my own research I find that his duty flying that humg was considered one of the worst, if not THE worst assignment in WWII.
