Jesse E. Gregory was at Sioux City, IA for crew training with the 1st Lt. Charlton A. Deuschle crew from March - June 1949.
He ended up with the 487th BG at Lavenham, England, Station 137 USAAF.
How did he get there? I know that some crews ferried new A/C to the front. How did others travel after crew training? How did Jesse get to Lavenham, England? His first mission was on 1 August 1944, the first for the Group after the change over from B-24 to B-17.
I would appreciate any references, ideas, options available at the time, etc., any information at all.
Jim Gregory
