According to Snetterton Falcons, A/C 42-107164 was downed by flak. It crashed 1 1/2 mile south of Hallines west of St. Omer, France. On board:
P: 2/Lt Clyde Liles 0-811101 Beauregard Parish, LA
CP: 2/LtHarold Spitzenburg
N: Sgt John Pavia
B: 2/Lt Wallace Mummery
R: Sgt Clarence Jones
TT: T/Sgt John Dicicco

WG: S/Sgt James Tasker
TG: S/Sgt Theodore Ryman
TG: T/Sgt Max Kruse
All on board were KIA except the TG who became a POW.
The mission that day was to Cormette, France to bomb V-Weapon sites. Liles aircraft was hit by flak in the radio room and broke in half. Max Kruse tumbled about a mile in the tail section before he could get out. Ted Bymen had his chest chute on when he was blown out of the plane. His chute did not open and his body was recovered about a half mile from the crash site near St. Omer. Everyone else perished.
