: Hi!
: My grandfather passed away a year ago and I found some old notes from his days as a bottom guuner on a 17. Not sure if this info is accurate, but if anyone has a way of finding out, I would really like to know about this time of his life.

Neil,
Try to get some information by going to www.armyairforces.com/dbgroups.asp?Group=264. This is the 452nd BG forum. The top post about Association, Website and Reunions has some contacts and links listed that may prove helpful.
You can also post your request on the forum and might get some replies from someone who knew your grandfather. I didn't find a plane by that name on my reference list nor did the group lose a plane on that date according to the MACR database, however all planes lost did not have a MACR issued when they went down due to the circumstances or location. I also did not find any of the names you listed on the Mighty 8th Roll of Honor as having been shot down, KIA, WIA, POW or any other classification. Maybe there will be some answers forthcoming from a posting on the forum.
