: I am looking for any information about my father - Carlos Rabby. He was a co-pilot & pilot with the 8th Air Force during WWII. He was with the 384th Bomb Group (H) 546th Bombardment Squadron. It is said that one of his planes was shot down during a raid in 1943. I know little about him and his military service. He died at an early age and I did not get a chance to ask him about the war. If there is anyone out there that knew my father please contact me. I would like to know the name of his plane, the crew members, missions flew and did his plane get shot down. I would like to thank you in advance for any info you have. Thank You Son of a vet/hero James Rabby
Hi James,
Try going to www.armyairforces.com/dbgroups.asp?Group=205 This will put you on the 384th BG forum where you can post your question and get input from more people interested in that group. I did not find his name listed in The Mighty Eighth Roll of Honor which lists those either KIA, MIA or POWs when their plane was shot down. This is by no means a complete list but is a good reference.
