Hello everybody,
This is to tell about a book my friend Marilyn WALTON, daughter of 2nd Lt Thomas F. JEFFERS, bombardier on board B-24 "Rhapsody In Junk" Serial 41-28733, wrote about her Father, his crew, the plane's loss over Germany on June 18, 1944 with the Henry H. NORTHROP crew.
The book's title is "Rhapsody In Junk - A Daughter's Return To Germany To Finish Her Father's Story" published recently by authorhouse (www.authorhouse.com)
Very detailed and written with expertise and generosity, the book not only describes training, the Horsham St Faith base, the tensions before missions, the missions themselves, but also life as a POW in German Stalags, the Death March and other episodes. Mrs Walton's search has led her to England, Germany and Poland to retrace her Father's journey, and her book is a fitting tribute to the Greatest Generation her Dad and his fellow crewmembers belonged to. Never forget.
