I have been coming to this website since 1997 and is has been an incredible source of information to thousands of users over the years, including myself. I post answers when I know the answer, but otherwise, scan it everyday.

The people running this website are not paid executives - they do this belcause they feel they owe it to the men who served, and more importantly, to the men who never made it back. A word of thanks to all the hard work Fred and others do would be appropriate.

I Google "Mighty Eighth" ever morning and go down to Mighty Eighth Message Board, click, and I am here. No fuss, no muss.

When the internet first became widely popular, there was a trememdous backlog of people looking for information on 8th AF airmen, planes and missions. I was one of these people and found a huge amount of data using the internet. I have found just about every scrap of information I needed. But this backlog of people searching for information is thinning out and the traffic is slowing down. Many new books have been written providing additional detailed information on men, planes and missions. Seems like a logical occurance to me. There will always be dedicated historians seeking information, but the days of many people seeking information are thinning.

I agree today's generation doesn't even know what the ETO is, let alone what happened there. I thought Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers would spark a renewed interest in the subject, and it did for a little while, but that too has thinned.

There are a very few of us who honestly believe we are here to help others find out about planes, missions, and men, and as long as we are around, there will always be help for those that need it. And we will stand watch on the many people and organization that try to rewrite history every year.

Fred, I have said it a hundred times in the last few years, but thanks for all you do to keep the memories alive!
Blue Skies!
