Harry, When you mentioned Sept. 13th 1944 my ears perked up. We in the 493rd BG flew to Ludwigshaven,Ger.that day and our plane was shot up bad and we landed in a turnip field close to Brussels,Bel. Brussels had been liberated just a few days earlier. We all escaped injury.
