Daron,
The 582nd Squadron did not fly B-24s. The 707th Squadron was attached to the 446th Bomb Group, which was a B-24 group. I didn't find your grandfather listed on the Mighty 8th Air Force Roll of Honor which indicates he was never shot down and became a POW, Evadee or KIA. If you will go to www.armyairforces.com/dbgroups.asp?Group=258
it will take you to the 446th BG forum where you can post your query. Also you can look for a post about Association, Website and Reunions (may be on the first page but could be further down)There should be some contacts and links there that may provide you with some information. Good luck.

: : : My grandfather was a bombardier on a B24 in WWII and I am trying to locate which Squadron/group he was affiliated with. Any suggestions on best way to track this down. All web searches have not turned anything up to this point.
: : Daron,
: : What is your grandfather's name? Many of us have rosters from the various groups and may be able to find a link to him.
: : Are you aware of the site dedicated to bombardiers at www.hfhmsite@comcast.net. If you will contact Dave, the webmaster, he has a great many records of the graduating classes of bombardiers and may be able to help you.
