Found Robert Reynold Spellman(n) on WWII Memorial, placed by his brother. I contacted his brother in Tyler, TX and he e-mail me pictiures of the crew and my wife's uncle was the Navigator. According to him the plane wreckage was discovered 5 years later (1949) atop a 16,500 ft. cliff in China. Between the Yalu and the Makong rivers. The plane number is 42-6309, not 42-6307 (The Blue Bonnet Belle). 42-6309 assigned to 676th Bomb Sqdn, 444th Bomb Group.
Does anyone know if the aircraft had a name?
