HE WAS LOST IN THE HIMALAYAS MOUNTAINS OVER CHINA ON SEPTEMBER 2, 1944. KILLED IN ACTION IN WWII.

: The MACR database (Missing Air Crew Report) on the Army Air Force site shows only one B-29 for the date 2 Sept 1944. This plane is listed as being with the 444th Bomb Group and the MACR 11296
: covers this plane and crew. You can get a copy by contacting Lynn.Gamma@MAXWELL.AF.MIL There is no charge for this report and you may get some information that you do not have, depending on what kind of information was available at the time, such as eye witness reports from other crews in the area or suvivors of the crash. It is worth trying. There may be a wait to receive the report. but I got one a couple of weeks ago after only five days.
