Jim, I checked "The United States Army Air Forces" website under MACR and did find B-17 43-38296 listed as being lost on 10/15/44. The MACR is "9476". According to the book "Heavy Bombers of the Mighty Eighth", the plane was shot down by AA and crashed at Cologne, Germany. The pilot was 2LT Robert G. Ritter. There were 3-KIA and 6-POW. If you want the names of the other crew members, I have a book which lists their names and I'd be happy to E-Mail the names to you. George Kasparian
