Cannot find any helpful information to your question about B-24 42-40997, except it was originally with the 389thBG/565thBS and carried the nose art name of 'Screamin' Mimi', before going to the 801stBG.
I have found the crew list of this aircraft for 27th April 1944, if you do not have it already let me know and I will be glad to send it to you.
