: : S/Sgt Bennie Joe Morton - B17 tail gunner.
: : He was at Snetterton Heath in 8/96.
: : Any resources that show missions he flew, date he was shot and the crew he flew with, possible photos of his crew? I'm in London now and would like to visit to see more.

: Ben, you can certainly go up to SH and view the INCREDIBLE memorial they have erected, and there is a museum nearby in an old schoolhouse. I am sure someone on this board or in the area can direct you to it. You may have to call ahead, but I believe it is open at the weekends.

: You can drive it from London. If you can navigate to the A11 east of Cambridge and follow it until you get on the map at my website (use link below, then click on Airfields, and then "Snetterton Heath Airfield Locater Map". Be warned that it is now an auto racing venue, so weekends might be a bit busy!

: Cheers,

Fred - took your advice and visited Snetterton, the Echols museum, the Church at Quidendham (sp?) +++ Duxford (he is on the Roll of Honor at Duxford as well as the 96th Museum.)

However, I can not determine when he arrived at Snetterton nor can I find any records of his missions (just posted to 8th AF site - see URL below). Do you know of any place I can get these type documents?
Ben
