: I am searching for info about my Uncle John (Jack) Peters who was with the 359th bomber group in England during WWII. He has helped me all through my life and after losing my father he has started to tell me a little about his experience in the war but I don't want to push him too much. Any info' on details about his service and friends he lost ( which he thinks of daily ) would be greatly appreciated. I love this man and would like to connect on a different level.
: thanks.

Hello,
There was no 359th Bomber Group, well a 359th Fighter Group. If there was a typo in the middle digit of "359th" and if your Uncle was in a Bomb Group based in the UK, it might then be either the 379th or 389th Groups, based at respectively Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire and Hethel, Norfolk.
Your Uncle's full name, with middle initial if any, would be of help in trying to find info.
Anyway, please tell your Uncle Hello and, especially, Thanks for what he did way back when in helping to give us our freedoms back.
