Hi Rosalie, According to books I have, your Dad was killed on 4 April 1945. Six of his crew were KIA and three were POW. The three survivors were 2Lt Monroe (NMI) Harris, pilot of Phoenix, AZ, 2LT Robert J. Duffy, co-pilot of Iowa City, IA, and T/Sgt Alexander F. Koslowski, Radio Operator of Barberton, OH. Your Dad was a T/Sgt and the Radio Operator. My books indicate that the plane was B-24 42-50653 with radio call letter --X which indicates that it was assigned to the 565th BS while the crew was assigned to the 566th BS. The plane was shot down by a German Fighter and crashed at Segeberg, Germany. The loss of the crew was documented on MACR 13726. I've seen posted a number of times that the AFHRA (Air Force Historical Research Agency at Mobile, AL will send a copy of the MACR on request. George D. Kasparian
