Splasher beacons were directional beacons that helped individual Bomb Groups during assembly. Buncher beacons were used for Wing and Division assemblies. In both the Mighty Eighth War Manual and The Mighty Eighth by Freeman, there are maps showing the location of these beacons in East Anglia at various times during the war. Splasher 6,m as seen in my e-mail address, was used by the 100th BG at Thorpe Abbotts, Diss, Norfolk.
