There is a great book, if you can acquire a copy (it may be out of print) that might help. "Mighty Eigth War Manual" by Roger Freeman. My copy was published in 1984 and I did get it used. It is a how-did-they-run-the-air-war sort of book. One section is on Formation Assembly and the buncher beacons, splasher beacons are discussed and there is a map of the locations NE of London in one section.
It's a great resource, as all the Freeman books are....
