You wrote that the plane failed to return due to flak. Could it be that Karen B was hit by flak over Ruurlo (Rurrio,?) and tried to fly on in a westerly direction? Ruurlo - Lieren is only 20 miles apart and the planning maps that I have seen for this particular mission on a Berlin railway show a route back to Deopham Green just south of Apeldoorn.
