Hi Philippe,

Lt. Robert C. Gilchrist was with the 95thBG/412thBS.
On the 30th November 43, the 95th Bomb Group's Mission# 57 was to to Solingen (Wermelk'n) Germany. All but 1 aircraft returned from this mission which was a/c serial# 42-3317 'The Spirit of 76'.
This a/c is listed as having gone down 15 mins before the target area, when the aircraft left formation under control. Pilot was Lt. Arthur C. Hensler Jr, and Lt. Robert C. Gilchrist was the CP.
Navigator 2nd Lt. William L. Lohmane from Ohio was KIA. Three crew members became POW's, and other 6 crew members Evaded.
MACR# 1559, E & E 378, 379, 1885, 2340, 2341.

Philippe, I am afraid I cannot help with the actual crash site, perhaps one of the other guys on the board may have that answer.
Will e-mail you the crew list.

Cheers,
Moofy
