According the translated American metal leaf index files (LUFTGAUKOMMANDOS),there is no doubt about the plane type, that went down in the Egeln area. German reports KU 2416, KU 2417, D.L. 44/1-4, D.L. 47/135 and D.L. 41/18, they do all mention B-24 aircraft and 42-110028 on the date 7 July 1944.
