Don't know how much detail you want, but can add a little to Vic's info. The 100th BG launched 21 B-17s; 14 bombed, 9 missing, 3 daqmaged, 17 killed, 59 prisoners, 5 evaders, 10 interned Switzerland. PP was the 6th ship to go down, the 418th BS was lead sq. for the 100th BG, but the 100th was last group over the target.
The 100th, along with the 95th BG comprised the 402nd CW and this wing along with the 401st CW and the 403rd CW (which was lead Wing) made up the 4th Bomb Wing comanded by Col. C. LeMay.
Those killed besides Capt. Knox, were S/Sgt. J. LaSpada of Buffalo, Sgt. A. Markowski of Utica, S/Sgt. H. Norton of Alabama, S/Sgt. F. Tychewicz of Chicago, and 2/Lt. J. Whitaker of Wheeling. The crew was on its eighth mission.
