Hello David,
there is no village or town in Germany with the name Buckhorst.
( they wrote it like they spoke it )
I think the name is correct: Buchhorst.
There are 3 possibilitys, 3 villages:
a) Buchhorst east of Wolfsburg
b) Buchhorst north-west of Hannover
c) Buchhorst south of Lübeck

I think it should be a) or b)

Regards
Günter

: Hello Gunter:

: Yes, B-17G 42-37981 was officially named "Belle of the Barbary Coast". It went MIA on a mission to Leipzig on 7 Jul 1944 with pilot 2LT James C. Neill. There was a mechanical failure and it crashed near Buckhorst, Germany.

: Hope this helps.

: David
