: : Hi Philippe,
: : Sgt Anthony P. Salerno is listed as the RW gunner on 43-38089 "Wild Oats" when if failed to return on 12 Sept 1944 due to German fighters and crashed at Weser, Germany. The pilot was 2Lt Claude T. Adams. The MACR 8896 is available free by contacting Lynn.Gamma@MAXWELL.AF.MIL. Project Bits and Pieces shows conflicting reports about his status. One place shows he was KIA and another that he became a POW.
