: Sgt Anthony P. Salerno is listed as the RW gunner on 43-38089 "Wild Oats" when if failed to return on 12 Sept 1944 due to German fighters and crashed at Weser, Germany. The pilot was 2Lt Claude T. Adams. The MACR 8896 is available free by contacting Lynn.Gamma@MAXWELL.AF.MIL. Project Bits and Pieces shows conflicting reports about his status. One place shows he was KIA and another that he became a POW.

Hi Phillipe and Vic,
I checked the American Battle Monuments Commission Website for Anthony P. Salerno. They list him as being buried in the Ardennes Cemetery in Plot A, Row 34, Grave 47 with a date of death of 12 Sept 1944. George D. Kasparian
