: My Uncle, Vernon J. Rourke was a pilot on the above mentioned planes. Looking for anyone who may have known him or have photos of the planes. I have seen one photo of E-Rat-icator, but no TN. There was a partial photo of Lady Gay (TN 44-6165)in a recent issue of Fly Past magazine. Would love to find a complete pic of the nose art. From what I could tell it has the words LADY GAY with some black clouds bordering? If anyone could point me in the direction of a source for missions he flew on I would be much appreciative!

Patrick,

Project Bits and Pieces shows the serial number of "E-Rat-Icator" to be 42-39970 P+ attached to the 730th Squadron of the 452nd Bomb Group and also shows that "Lady Gay" was 44-6165 O+ of the 730th Squadron. For information about your uncle you might want to post a query concerning him on www.armyairforces.com/dbgroups.asp?Group=264.

Vic
