Hi Bill,
I checked books I have and couldn't find a 358th FS, 355th BG plane listed as being lost on 26 March 1945. I also checked the MACR database on USAIRFORCES.COM and it didn't list a 358th BS plane lost on 26 March 1945. It's possible that an MACR was not required because Beaty was not MIA. I also checked the American Battle Monuments Commission to see if he might have been KIA and buried overseas. There is no listing for Beaty. George D. Kasparian
