: : From a local auction, I purchased a small case full of photos that show aircraft, airfield hangers & airmen etc, also Badges & letters dated 1944, The badges suggest that the airmen belonged to the 8th Airforce, hense my visit, although I'm not sure how I found this web site.
: : As suggested from another site, I might well visit the Norwich Forum to see if they have anything on display.
: : I'm writing to a man here in England at this time who may have an interest, mean time I was hoping to find a web site where I can view different information to help identifie the contents.
: Hi Percy,
: Is there anything that would indicate which bomb group the letters pertain to or any names that we might check against rosters of the various groups. You will find that someone who frequents this forum will probably be able to give you some information about the individuals and also the group. There were a number of groups around the Norwich area. Check Fred Preller's site that has a link on this site for all the different groups stationed in England.

Greetings Percy,
I have been researching my uncle’s B-17 crew that was stationed in Thurleigh. They were shot down on February 22, 1944 after a raid on Bernburg. I’ve been putting his life together on a DVD for our family. The holy grail photo to complete the story with human faces would be the crew shot in front of their B-17 as many have done. I haven’t had much luck there. Here are some specifics.
They were in the 306th Bomb Group, 368th Bomb Squadron.
The B-17’s Identification was B-17G WW-D Serial No. 42-31695.
The pilot’s name was William C. Quaintance. My uncle’s name was Joseph F. Strukel (Flight Engineer)
If there is any cost involved in this research, i am more than happy to pay for these services. My family will be extremely grateful as well.
