: : If he was KIA on his 25th mission, it would have possibly completed his tour requirement. There is some controversy about when the requirement was raised to 30 but it was very close to this time. My brother was also KIA on his 25th on 6 March 1944.

Hi Fellows,
I checked Bits and Pieces and there is a 563rd BS, 388th BG plane lost on 11 April 1944 which crashed at Rostock with Lt. Osterkamp listed as the pilot. Combat Chronology lists Pvt. George W. Yaylor of Bridgeport, CT as the Left Waist Gunner. I next checked the ABMC website to see if either Taylor or Osterkamp are buried overseas. Both Taylor and Osterkamp are listed as being on the Tablet of the Missing
at Cambridge, U.K. George W. Taylor,s rank is listed as Sgt. George D. Kasparian
