: Sgt Don Freeman was a member of the 510th. On 8 Sep 44, his aircraft crashed in France after bombing Ludwigshafen. (42-31560 A/C Lt Shera). 3 crewmembers died in the crash, 5 became POWs. Sgt Freeman evaded with the help of local French people and returned to US control. I am have a friend in France who is trying to put Sgt Freeman back in touch with the people who aided his escape.

Try getting in touch with Clint Hammond at bombgroup351st@aol.com. He is the membership secretary of the 351st Bomb Group. If Freeman is a member of the association, he should be able to give you his address. Good luck.
