: Greetings... This film appears to be dedicated to the 305thBG -- can anybody tell me if it really was filmed at Chelveston please?? Notice the a/c are Triangle 'A' -- but the 305thBG was Triangle 'G' A great film anyway -- some excellent wartime flying footage. I'll be very grateful for any information offered. Many thanks and God bless you

For anyone who has not visited my website, I do present a table of tail codes (such as the Triangle-G referred to above) to help with questions like this. Just click on the link below, and select "Bomb Groups" in the navigation bar at the left. Then click on the "By Group Code" in the yellow bar mid-right. There you will find, for instance, that Triangle-A is the 91st BG.

One thing aobut 12OCH that convinces me that it hews close to truth, is that many bomb groups claim it is about them. The most popular theory is, of course, that it is about Col. Armstrong and his effort to shape up the 306th BG at Thurleigh. There are definitely elements of that, but Armstrong was only at Thurleigh for a month.

And I agree - it is a great movie. I carry the DVD when I travel, and watch it on my laptop!

Cheers and warm beers,
f3
