: Kathy,
: The 390th BG has your father, W.L. McAllister credited with 30 missions. He flew frequently in B-17 # 42-37906 "Angel in Disguise". They list no K.L. Houghton in their records.

: Unfortunately, the only K.L. Houghton that I found was KIA in June'44. He was assigned to the 100th BG. He was from Attleboro, Mass.
: For more info on your father, contact Gene or Carolyn in the research dept. of the 390th BG at: Res390th@Aol.com They should have a crew picture.
: Tell 'em Hugh sent you.
: Regards,
: Hugh

Hugh,

I sent an e-mail to Gene and Carolyn telling them you sent me.

You have misunderstood my posting.

I was looking for anyone who had information about the William McAllister crew, which my dad was a part of. Dad, John F. Nelson, flew with this crew from February 4, 1944 through May 28, 1944. He caught a cold and was grounded until June 5, 1944. He then flew his last 3 missions to complete 30 missions. His last plane, with the Kenneth L. Houghton crew in the 100th BG on "Any Gum Chum" # 42-97859, was shot down over Southern France and four men, including my dad, were captured, put in a POW camp, and then participated in the Dead March across Germany - a whole different story for another time.

Many men evaded capture and one was KIA. Houghton was listed as one of the men evading. I guess with your info and the info I have of him living in San Francisco, CA, brings much confusion to me. The search continues.

It's OK these things are somewhat unclear because you gave me VERY valuable information. If you have any other info, please let me know.

Thanks, Hugh!

Kathy
