: Dear Sirs,
: A sextant has turned up in a friends Father's effects.
: It is complete with a faded green case the instrument is in excellent condition. I have since been told the certificate of issue was from RAF Warton Lancashire, UK
: A faded name has been written on the case Lt. ***** E
: B.17- 177. I am not sure if 177 is a shortened "tail number". THe friend would like find if possible if Lt. *****E survived the war and was returned to his family
: Kind Regards
: Tony Regan
: Ex RAF

It may be that this item was serviced at BAD 2, Warton, Station 582, even though the main bomber this facility serviced was the B-24.
