Hi Moofy,
I don't find anything on Louis M. Sassi in my references. There is a plane named "Fitch's Bandwagon" 42-107043 with the 401st Bomb Group, close but no cigar. This AC was salvaged 24 June 1944 but no indications of the reason or anything about the crew. Maybe a cross check might show something.
