The Square-C on the tail indicates 96th Bomb Group (H), and the AW on the fuselage indicates 337th Bomb Squadron. This unit was stationed at Snetterton Heath Airfield from June 1943-December 1945, so it may have been taken there.

The natural metal finish and tail number indicate it was probably taken in 1944 or 1945. Others will have to interpret the national symbol to narrow down a date, but I am going to guess July 1944 (partly due to the leaves on the trees) - but that is a guess. I have no idea on the location or circumstances.
