"Blowing Bessie" (also known as "Hot Toddy") went down over Dieppe, France, on November 5, 1943, returning from a mission to Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Tail # 42-30852, piloted by 1st LT Donald K. Hopp. The aircraft belonged to the 381st Bomb Group, 535th Bomb Squadron. LT Carr was from Dunbar, PA.
