Hi Charlie,
According to Jeffrey E. Brett's book 'The 448th Bomb Group (H) Liberators over Germany in World War ll'....448thBG/712thBS B-24 'Leading Lady'.
is listed as serial# 44.48805. Unfortunatly, I have not been able to find a picture of this aircraft. If you contact me with your wifes dads full name, I will see if I can find any mention of your wifes dad and his crew in the book.
