Ralph Palmer was taken in by Eugene Hupins family in Belgium and hidden from the Germans.
Eugene was betrayed by two informers and arrested by the Gestapo and he were beaten up and questioned,at the same time the Gestapo raided his house and captured Ralph Palmer.
Eugene Hupin was executed by the Gestapo and his wife was jailed. Mrs Hupin was later released and died in 1979.
Palmer became a POW but survived and died in a Veterans Hospital in California in 1983.
