This is a fascinating chapter with much confusing information around for historians. Can someone out there with firsthand knowledge answer a few questions ?
1) Why the fuss with keeping the Norden under wrap during transport? Did the airforce not know that German intelligence had the plans already prior to
the beginning of WW2 ?
2) I understand that some of the features were better
on the Sperry, why were they not adopted for the Norden ?
3) Was the Mark Twain sight used only on the Dolittle raid or at any other time during a low altitude attack ?
4) Was the Luftwaffenzielgerät EZ 42 identical to the Norden and did it see action ? Why did the Germans stick with the Lofte ?
5) Is it true that many times only the lead ship had the Norden and the rest of the bombers were told to drop when they saw the lead plane drop bombs ?
6) Was there ever a shortage in supply of the Norden ?
7) What was the bombsight of choice after the end of the war in Europe for the B-29s ?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
