July 29, 1944 will always be remembered because of the death of my pilot Lt. Robert S. Lyle, Navigator Roger Kellgog and Top Turret gunner Walter Kozlowski who were all killed in an accident at our home base at the 96th Bomb Group. Co-pilot Lt. Leigh Mann was critically injured but survived. Six of us other crew members survived without any injuries. I was the radio operator on this crew.
