Help With ID of Men in Photo???

Hi All,

I have a mystery here, I hope one of you can help. A photo showing 7 airmen was sent to the 398th BG Assoc for identification, but we can find no record of these men being with the 398th. We are guessing they were 'passing through' from another bomb group and had their pic taken. Maybe landed there due to bad weather, mechanical problems? Anyway, the names on the back of the photo are: Vernon H. Roether, Best, Borecky, Johnson, Paul, Fink and Souders. Then the line: "Taken 1945 Nuthampstead, England". The grandson of Roether, who sent the photo, says his granddad was a navigator - but he has no other info. I can e-mail the photo if anyone would like to see it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
