Sorry, "Southern Gal" was not the plane that went down in my area, om may 2 1944, just above Parma, another B-24, "Big Fat Mama" Black S, 41-29354 collided with "Southern Gal" cause poor manouver due to very heavy Flak. The left tail fin of "Southern Gal" was left bended on "Big Fat Mama" nose, who was able to join the 57th FG's airfield in Corsica. "Southern Gal" went down near CANOSSA LUNIGIANA, a little village in VILLAFRANCA LUNIGIANA area, on the southern side of Apennine Mountains.
The other village called CANOSSA are in my province, Reggio Emilia, on northern side of Apennine Mountains, about 21 kms southeast from Parma. VILLAFRANCA LUNIGIANA are about 110 km south of Parma.
