B24 shot down over the Ardennes

I know an eye witness to the shooting down of a Liberator by a German fighters. It was some time May-August 1944 over Burnontige, at low level.

He believes the wreckage landed in the area Werbomont-Hotton-Xhoris. He saw 2 or 3 parachutes. Have you any details of this event?

I know that a unit-history book was written that referred to the 2 or 3 parachute survivors of the crash who were hidden by the Belgians and escaped.

Any details on this aircraft?
