Dear Mr. Buch,

In my notes I have Capt. Vincent J. Gannon being aboard Morissette's aircraft #42-29737. I know the next question will be "how do I know?"

After my uncle was MIA for a time and after he was declaired KIA I heard my family discussing that W..W. Brown was the only survivor. I also have newspaper clippings from the time with the crew list.In 1977 I visited Mr. Brown in Cleveland, Ohio and heard his account of the mission. No one ever mentioned a second survivor until I saw the information from the MACR. I attended the annual reunion of the 95th BG in 2004 and asked about the second survivor and was told that Capt. Gannon was on Morissette's aircraft. I don't remember who told me. Mr. Gannon is listed as deceased by the 95th BG.

I think this is a case of ground personel going on a mission to get "into the action".

: Dear Mr. Woods,

: Very interesting detail about Gannon. Do you have a serial number of the 95th BG aircraft, from where he bailed out?

: 95th BG losses on 13/6 1943:

: 42-3202 (Harry Conley crashlanded at Rackheath on return), 42-3206, 42-3286, 42-29675, 42-29680, 42-29702, 42-29737, 42-29763, 42-29827, 42-30118 and 42-30164.

: Regards

: Finn Buch
